Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist

Starting Salary: $15.50/hour

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Access Veterinary Care is a veterinary clinic that focuses on providing affordable, accessible care for families in Minnesota. Through community medicine that prioritizes quality, efficiency, and flexible care options, we believe that we can help reduce the burden of medical care and help keep animals with their families.

An ideal candidate loves a fast-paced environment, helping people in stressful and emotional situations, taking on varied responsibilities, and also works well both on their own and within a team. Both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time positions (10-25 hours) are available.

All staff should be able to communicate in a respectful manner with clients and fellow employees. Knowing Spanish or ASL is also a huge plus!

Main Job Duties:

Check in and register clients and patients
Answer phones, direct calls, and take messages for medical staff as necessary
Perform phone triage of patients
Process prescription requests
Ensure timely communication with referring veterinarians
Obtain CPR and Emergency Treatment paperwork
Create estimates and schedule surgical procedures
Maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for clients
Money handling (process payments through electronic medical record system)
Maintain medical records
Answer e-mails in a timely fashion
Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements

Education:

Any

Expected:

Excellent verbal communication skills
Actively engaged in learning new skills
Able to learn software systems (including electronic medical records systems)
Able to think on feet and problem solve
Ability to thrive in a face paced environment

Preferred:

Bi- or Multi-lingual (English/Spanish preferred)
Experience in client care, guest services, or medical reception


COVID-19 considerations:
To keep our staff safe, we’ve implemented curbside care. Clients use an online check-in system and hand-off their patient in our vestibule. All staff and clients are required to wear face masks.
